There’s nothing that connects people better than a good meal. At Sapphire Restaurant, this is a belief we’ve held since we opened our doors in 1993. In fact, we started our restaurant in order to bring people together! Today, our dream of becoming a community destination for fresh food and an enjoyable experience has been realized for more than 20 years.
Our restaurant blends fresh ingredients with traditional Indian and Thai cooking styles, while also offering diners a customer-centric experience and supreme satisfaction. We’re more than just another place to grab a meal—we’re proud to be a local destination for amazing eats and an awesome dining experience!
Arun Kansagra, Owner of Sapphire Restaurant, has traveled the world for much of his life, and lived in amazing places like India, East Africa and England. Throughout his travels, Arun immersed himself in the cultures of the world—specifically the foods and cooking styles of each area he visited. Today, these experiences shape the menu at Sapphire Restaurant. You’ll find classic Indian and Thai dishes, as well as creative fusions and original takes, all meant to give you the same profound experiences Arun had as he traveled the globe.
You don’t have to tour the globe to get the best meal—you just have to sit down for a meal at Sapphire Restaurant!

The buffet is yummy m. No tasteless watered down dishes that leave you looking for meat or seasoning here. Each dish has a distinct flavors from India and Thailand. I recommend trying the buffet but the entrees are quite delicious as well
I come for the lunch special during the week errrr now and then. Sometimes it's good, sometimes phenomenal, as is today!!! I like to sip the hot yea at the end to settle my stomach after eating so much. Hopefully no one from work is reading my reviews bc I'm going to sleep after deez boyz deliver like this;)))
Sapphire is our favorite Indian restaurant near us! Nice buffet at lunch, with a variety of items.
Excellent food...I order from menu always so I can try new food. The seasoning and quality of the food is better than any you will find in the fancy DC/Bethesda restaurants. The location is deceiving because it's in a strip mall. Once you enter you smell the great aromas! This is a hidden gem in Laurel. PS...we are world travelers and you can't go wrong with this place. Thai and Indian food either or are mouthwatering. Worth the trip to Laurel!
The owner is very caring and friendly. The Biryani here is killer and the drink prices are reasonable. I wouldn't hang out here often, but too go in order take out and drink a beer or two while you wait, ALL DAY!
started going to Sapphire about ten years ago, when a State Department neighbor of mine said it was the best Indian food around ( without a sarcastic tone). I have moved in and out of the area twice since and I keep on going back. The first time I went there was for a quick meal on a busy day, so I had the buffet. The selection was extensive, and they had goat curry...who has goat curry on a buffet? It was delicious, with nicely balanced spices and the meat was tender.
My favorite restaurant in the area. Great food. Great service. Don't let the outside or the location fool you. This is well worth the visit. Can't lose here.
Have a great buffet on weekends! Good food. Only thing is at night there is a some kind of bar next door that is noisey. Would prefer to just hear the true Indian music in the background:
